ABOUT
BARI BERKOWITZ, LMFT, LLP

With over twenty-five years of experience as a therapist, I have helped patients get “unstuck” and achieve more authentic relationships with themselves. I am trained as a Level One Internal Family Systems therapist and in Pia Mellody’s Post-Induction Therapy (PIT) to treat trauma and codependency.

Clients have described me as warm and kind, and also straightforward and honest. I create a safe and non-judgmental space to help you work through unresolved shame, grief, and loss. I understand that your time is valuable, which is why I use our sessions to build skills for you to put into action immediately.

My extensive training in family systems allows me to help you understand your own patterns of behavior, and how they relate to those of your multigenerational family. Together, we develop effective options for solving problems and changing your response to the automatic role you are expected to play.

In addition to private practice, I have worked in preeminent recovery facilities such as the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California and as a Primary and Family Therapist at The Meadows in Malibu, California. These experiences strengthen my ability to assist you with mental health issues and substance and process addictions.
